Terms & Conditions

Last updated 2026

These terms govern your use of https://healthtools.pro and everything published on it. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site. We have tried to write this in plain language rather than legal padding.

What this site provides

HealthTools provides free health and fitness calculators and written guides for general educational use. There is no account to create, no subscription and no payment. We may add, change or remove calculators and articles at any time, and we may take the site offline for maintenance without notice.

Nothing on this site is medical advice. This is the single most important limit on how you may rely on it, and it is set out in full in our medical disclaimer, which forms part of these terms. Please read it before acting on any result.

Your licence to use the site

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access the site and use its calculators and guides for your own information, study or professional reference. That licence covers reading pages, running calculations, and printing or saving a page for your own use. It does not transfer ownership of anything, it does not permit commercial redistribution of our written material, and it ends if you breach these terms. Everything not expressly granted here is reserved.

Acceptable use

You may use the site freely for your own personal or professional reference. You may not:

  • Copy, scrape or republish substantial portions of our written content, whether manually or by automated means, without our written permission.
  • Use automated tools in a way that places an unreasonable load on the site, or attempt to bypass rate limits or other technical protections.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or any connected system, or probe for vulnerabilities without permission.
  • Introduce malware, or interfere with the site's operation or security for any other visitor.
  • Reproduce our calculators or content within another product or service, or embed them in a way that presents them as your own work.
  • Remove, obscure or alter our attribution, source citations or disclaimers when quoting our material.
  • Use the site or anything on it for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that misrepresents a calculator result as a clinical assessment.

We may block access where these terms are being breached, particularly where the site's availability for other visitors is at risk.

No warranty

The site, its calculators and all of its content are provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

In particular, and stated plainly: we do not warrant that any calculator result is accurate for you, that the content is complete or current, that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected. The equations we use are published population formulas with known error margins, described on each calculator's page. We verify our implementations against their sources as described in our editorial policy, but verification is not a guarantee.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HealthTools, its owner and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or health outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use this site, including any decision you make on the basis of a calculator result, a guide, or a third-party site we link to.

Because the site is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is nothing. Where the law of your country does not allow some of these exclusions (and consumer law in many places does not), they apply only to the extent permitted, and your statutory rights are unaffected. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HealthTools, its owner and its contributors against any claim, loss, liability or reasonable cost arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms. Examples would be republishing our material without permission, stripping citations or disclaimers from content you reproduce, presenting a calculator result as a clinical assessment to someone else, or using the site unlawfully. This does not apply to ordinary personal use of the site as intended, and it does not limit any liability we cannot exclude by law.

Intellectual property

What we own

The original material on this site is our intellectual property and is protected by copyright: the written guides, explanatory text, page copy, site design, layout, brand name, logo, and the source code that implements the calculators. You may not reproduce it commercially or at scale without written permission.

You are welcome to quote a short passage or cite a calculator in an article, paper, class or post, provided you attribute it to HealthTools and link to the page you took it from. For anything more substantial, email jonestitus194@gmail.com and ask. We usually say yes to educational use.

What we do not own

We want to be explicit about this, because it matters to the integrity of the site. The formulas and equations themselves are not ours. Mifflin-St Jeor, Harris-Benedict, Devine, Robinson, Miller, Hamwi, Tanaka, Karvonen, Epley, Brzycki, Naegele's rule, the Compendium of Physical Activities and the other published methods we implement are the work of the researchers and organisations who developed and validated them. We cite them on the relevant pages, we claim no ownership over them, and we assert no proprietary rights in any published equation. Our copyright covers only our own implementation, wording and presentation.

Third-party names, trademarks and organisation names mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners, and their use here is for identification and citation only. It does not imply affiliation or endorsement in either direction.

Third-party links and advertising

We link to external sites such as research papers, clinical guidelines and reference material, so you can verify what we publish. We do not control those sites, do not endorse their content beyond the specific point being cited, and are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, privacy practices or security. Following an external link is at your own risk.

The site carries third-party advertising. Advertisements are not endorsements, and we are not responsible for advertisers' products, services or claims. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them. How advertising stays separate from our editorial decisions is covered in our editorial policy and cookie policy.

Privacy

Your use of the site is also governed by our privacy policy. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored by us.

Changes, severability and entire agreement

We may update these terms as the site develops or as the law changes; the last-updated line above reflects the current version, and material changes will be made clear here rather than silently. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. These terms, together with our medical disclaimer, privacy policy and cookie policy, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the site, and our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which the site's operator is established, and any dispute will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of your own country of residence. If you need the specific jurisdiction confirmed for a legal or compliance purpose, contact jonestitus194@gmail.com and we will provide it in writing.

Contact

Questions about these terms, permission requests and legal notices can be sent to jonestitus194@gmail.com or through our contact page.
